This gathering will center Black women in deep connection with nature, embodiment, and the wisdom of matrilineal traditions as a pathway to healing. Set against the lush beauty of the Desert Botanical Gardens, we will explore how returning to ancestral ways of living—where community, care, and intergenerational wisdom were central—can help us feel more rooted, held, and whole. Through guided reflection, movement, storytelling, and nature-immersed rituals, we will celebrate the ways our foremothers nurtured themselves, each other, and the land—and how we can reclaim these practices for our own well-being today. Wear comfortable clothes.
