PhxSoul.com Proud to Join the 2025 List of East Valley MLK Awards Recipients
Ready Set Go Foundation, in partnership with East Valley Elected Officials and the East Valley MLK Celebration & Parade, led by Keisha McKinnor, proudly announces the inaugural East Valley MLK Awards.
This event commemorates Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a legendary figure whose leadership and commitment to civil rights continue to inspire. In keeping with Dr. King’s enduring legacy, the “East Valley MLK: Keeping the Dream Alive” event will honor outstanding community leaders, businesses, and nonprofits that have driven progress and inspired others through their vision, passion, and leadership.
Councilman OD Harris and Councilwoman Berdetta Hodge, key organizers of the awards, emphasize the importance of recognizing the extraordinary contributions of leaders in the East Valley.
“We are thrilled to honor those who embody the spirit of Dr. King’s dream and have made significant impacts across our community,” said Councilman OD Harris. “This celebration is a testament to the strength and diversity of our region, representing over 1.5 million people from Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, and Queen Creek,” added Councilwoman Berdetta Hodge. “These leaders inspire us all to continue working towards a more united and equitable society.”
The awards ceremony will take place at 12:30 PM on Monday, January 20, at the Mesa City Plaza, 20 E Main St, Mesa. Each recipient will be honored with congressional recognitions, highlighting their significant contributions to the community.
The East Valley MLK Awards not only celebrate the accomplishments of these remarkable individuals and organizations but also continue the mission of Dr. King by promoting unity, equality, and positive change in the community. Through their dedication, these honorees exemplify the spirit of service and community leadership that Dr. King championed.
