Save the Date! “Getting to the Root” is coming to Arizona State University in February 2025! The exhibition was initially conceptualized as a theoretical exhibition by Jazmine Beatty in a chapter in “An Anthology of Blackness: The State of Black Design.” Dr. Amber C. Coleman, Jazmine Beatty, Tehan Ketema, and Olivia Richardson are bringing this vision to life, exploring the deep roots of identity, care, and culture tied to our hair. Together, we have curated work from Black artists, educators, and scholars across the U.S. to honor the beauty, resilience, and stories embedded in Black hair culture. Mark your calendars and join us as we explore how Black hair shapes our identities, memories, and communities! ✨
