DepARTure Gallery is honored to present a special tribute exhibition celebrating the life and legacy of Leroy P. Elie (1946–2020), a visionary artist known for his bold, multi-media works blending abstraction with narrative imagery. The exhibition, opening January 25, 2025, is made possible through the efforts of his daughter, Chiara Elie, who is dedicated to sharing her father’s work.

Leroy P. Elie’s artistic journey began in childhood, where his imaginative and colorful vision of the world inspired him to draw and convey the imagery of people around him. A Fine Arts graduate of Portland State University, Elie developed a style rooted in a lifelong fascination with color and creativity, further influenced by his professional experience in electronic design. His work invites viewers to see the world through his bold and imaginative lens, exploring global themes with vibrant expression.
