BASE Arizona Black History Month: Vision 2025 Education & Action – Economic Empowerment Event, a transformative event designed to inspire, educate, and empower individuals to take actionable steps toward economic growth and financial stability.
This free community event will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the ASU Chandler Innovation Center, 249 E Chicago St, Chandler, AZ 85225.
The event will bring together dynamic keynote speakers, interactive workshops, and resources to equip attendees with tools for financial empowerment, entrepreneurship, homeownership, and legacy-building.
Keynote Speakers Include:
- Christine Ellis, Vice Mayor of Chandler – Welcome & Opening Remarks
- Sheena Hawkins, VP and Regional Manager Zero Barriers to Business at BMO Bank – Breaking Barriers: Learn How to Start, Fund, and Scale a Successful Business
- Michael Moore – Financial Wellness 101: Budgeting, Investing, and Wealth-Building Strategies
- Vanessa Roark – State of Black Homeownership & Opportunities in Arizona
- Jevin Hodge – Empowering Action: Creating a Legacy Through Education, Action & Community
Workshops to Drive Action – Participants will choose from workshops tailored to economic empowerment, including topics such as:
- Accessing funding for businesses
- Grant writing essentials
- Homeownership preparation and credit building
- Marketing and branding strategies
- Navigating state contracts and certifications
Workshops are hands-on and designed to help attendees create actionable vision boards to turn their dreams into tangible goals.
